The HBCU Faculty Development Network Annual Conference brings together faculty, staff, academic leaders, and higher education professionals from across the HBCU community for three days of learning, collaboration, and connection.
This year’s conference, Strengthening Excellence at HBCUs: Developing Faculty, Staff, and Academic Leaders for What’s Now and What’s Next, focuses on practical strategies, shared solutions, and meaningful conversations that strengthen teaching, leadership, faculty and staff development, and institutional effectiveness.

Webinar Title: OpenStax Assignable
OpenStax Assignable is an exciting tool that allows instructors (like you!) to build customized assignments directly in their Learning Management System (LMS) and it is FREE for the summer! Students complete these assignments directly from the LMS, too. Assignable empowers instructors to assign OpenStax free textbooks/OER as readings, assessment questions that correspond to chapters/sections in the textbook, and additional interactive and culturally responsive materials designed to keep students engaged and meet a wide range of learning needs.
